Great Tribulation Death Percentages

In the Bible there is a predicted period of immense destruction. This time period is often referred to as the Great Tribulation. Over the years I've held many conversations with various Christians over what they expect out of the Great Tribulation and a portion believe Christians will be raptured ,taken out of the world without dying, prior to this event, whereas, the rest believe that Christians will be forced to endure the destruction along with everyone.  Knowing that this destruction is actually given mathematical percentages for death expectancy, I decided to do the math.

Here are known figures given by scripture to help us estimate the likelihood of survival to mid tribulation.

• Forth Seal: 1/4 die from the 4th horseman.  (Revelation 6:7-8)
• Third Trumpet: 1/3 die from Wormwood and bitter water. (Revelation 8:10, 11)
• Sixth Trumpet: 1/3 die from 2nd WOE begins: 4 Angels, an army of 200 Million horsemen kills 1/3 of the people (Revelation 9:15)

Here's the math I did..

If each percentage is referring specifically to the total of man prior to The Great Tribulation then..

100% (population) - 25% (fourth seal) - 33% (third trumpet) - 33% (sixth trumpet)= 9% (population remaining)

…Only 9% of the entire world population entering the tribulation will survive to the middle of the Great Tribulation.

However, if the figures are progressive in percentage (meaning each new percentage is based off the new total of people) then…

100% (of the population) -25% (fourth seal)=75% of the population remaining

33%(third Trumpet) of 75%(remaining population) = 24.75%

75% (remaining population) – 24.75% (factored above) = 50.25%

33%(sixth Trumpet) of 50.75%(remaining population) = 16.75 %

50.75% (remaining population) – 16.75% (factored above)= 34% (actually less because 1/3 is 33.333333…  and I only factored 33%)

 Conclusion:

According to the math, it seems like most people, 66%-91%, will be dying before the middle of the Tribulation events occur. So best case scenario only about 1/3 of the world population will exist by the Mid-Tribulation when Christianity is outlawed by the anti-chirst.  It is important to consider this information when reflecting on Revelation as it seems doubtful most people will be able to survive if these percentages are accurate.
